This special issue of the Wood Demand Report includes annual wood consumption data by state for the South from 2006 through 2011 to serve as a reference tool. The report provides market information from the field to keep forest analysts, timberland owners, and procurement foresters up to date on stumpage market news and mill wood purchase activities. The report describes stumpage market conditions in the US South and reports forest industry mill news for all regions of the US. It features unique analysis of the actual wood demand purchase data from forest industry mills in the US South, including an update on the Forisk Wood Demand Index for pine grade and pine pulpwood. In addition, the special issue describes effective capacity utilization for the US South by comparing actual wood purchases to wood demand at full capacity for forest industry mills.
